Basing my comments on the amount of publication experience that I have had in the past, I’d imagine if one were to take a peek into the inner-workings of a fashion magazine, they would discover that there are hours upon hours of discussion regarding how to keep content original for their readers. The struggle, you ask?  W Magazine’s tagline summarizes it perfectly: “Who, what, where, when, and why in the world of style.” Their content is limited to fashion and fashion alone. While there are some exceptions, such as their feature “On Set” (although still loosely based on style), W Magazine is often faced with the daunting task of coming up with fresh content every month that is solely style-driven — and, damn do they do it well.

The image above is a photograph of a fashion feature in W Magazine – The Fashion Issue. Titled Transformers, the feature illustrates the transformative power of fashion by photographing one model styled two different ways. Upon my initial viewing, I was amazed when I discovered that the same model, Jessica Stam, was photographed in both images. In the opening intro of the feature, W writes that “fashion is all about exploring different selves,” and they undoubtedly illustrated that in this series of images.

To see more images, pick up a copy of W Magazine – The Fashion Issue (I’m shamelessly loyal to print), or check out the feature online here.
