I receive replacement filters every 3 months and in our offices the fallow time is 8 minutes which is pretty impressive. So far, we have had NO issues with covid transmission in our offices. Keep up the good work!!

“Does a higher HEPA rating and efficiency percentage mean better performance?”

NO. In fact, it can decrease performance.

The Truth: Performance comes down to how FAST an air purifier can clean the air in a room, not how much it captures in a single pass through the filter.

  • The higher the HEPA rating (H15, H16) and pass-through efficiency (99.99%), the more difficult it is for air to pass through the filter.
  • Less air through your filter means the longer it can take to remove the harmful particles from the air, depending on the size of the room.

Instead, find a purifier that can remove the highest percentage of particles from a room of your size in the shortest period of time.

“Are UV lights in air purifiers effective at killing airborne particles?”

NO. In fact, they can be dangerous.

The Truth: UV Lights are not effective at killing harmful airborne particles that travel through an air purifier, and can cause more damage than good.

  • Air often flows through UV air purifiers too fast for the UV rays to make any difference [1].
  • UV air purifiers can also generate harmful ozone, which can often be toxic – short-term exposure can cause respiratory symptoms, and long-term exposure has been linked to cancer [2,3,4,5].

Instead, find a purifier that has multiple filters each designed to catch the different particle sizes found in our indoor air (e.g. Pre-Filter, Carbon Filter, and HEPA Filter).
